Lesson: DVH Evaluation Module

 

On this DVH, the “Cord + 3mm” tab has been activated. Now it is much easier to evaluate the dose to the spinal cord.

For many structures a “point dose” is what you are looking for. A “point dose” refers to the maximum dose that a structure is going to receive. If you follow the purple line to the lower end you can see that the spinal cord will receive approximately 5000 cGy. A “point dose” is one way to evaluate how much radiation a structure is getting.
