  Another valuable use of the DVH is to identify the “Volume for a Given Dose.” The best example of this is the V20 of the lung. The V20 is the volume of lung that receives 20 Gy (2000 cGy).
    
    In the DVH above, the arrow is pointing to the location where the lung line crosses the 20 Gy (2000 cGy) mark. It is approximately at the 35% line.
Therefore, the V20 of this plan is approximately 35%.
