Lesson: Wedges Module
As beams are rotated closer together (less than 180 degrees) a dosimetric hot spot develops at the closest entrance point. In the image below, the elbow is the anterior portion of the intersection of the two beams, indicated by the white isodose line. Wedges are commonly used to even these out.
